2004 Land Rover Discovery

Diagnosed and found there are several faults. Missfire on cylinder 8. Found # 8 ignition wire is grounding against the secondary air pipe. Will need to replace the ignition wire to fix. P1666-1667 Anti-theft. Diagnosed. The fault is due to a failed crank position sensor. Will need to replace the crank position sensor to fix. Vehicle has incorrect spark plugs and wires causing misfires. Replaced wires, plugs and crank position sensor and plenum gasket. Cleared faults and test drove vehicle.
The car has a failed crank position sensor. The clanking rubbing sound is the transmission pipe rubbing on the harmonic balancer. Adjusted the pipe to clear the balancer.
The shuttle valve switch has failed. Will need to replace the shuttle valve modulator.

Fault stored in vehicle: P0480-13: Fan control circuit P050E-00: Exhaust temp too low. Checked systems and everything is working normal at this time. P2279.00: Intake air system leak. Performed smoke test on vehicle. Found vacuum leak at PCV pipe from back of valve cover. Recommend replacing breather hose.
Replaced breather hose. Cleared fault codes and test drove vehicle. No faults returned at this time.
Replaced left rear corner marker bulb. Added 1 quart of oil. Coolant protection level is good: -60 degrres Replaced air and pollen filters. Front brakes: 7 mil Rear brakes: 5 mil Tires are all at 9/32 and wearing evenly. Adjusted tire pressure. All fluids are full and clean. Lower control arms are worn and noisy. Recommend replacing in near future. This will all the full wear of tires and keep the vehicle in alignment.
